Program Information - C team Format 2025

Program Overview:

Roswell High School Junior Feeder program is a community high school feeder program designed to introduce girls to volleyball from an early age and develop the future talent of the Roswell High School volleyball teams. This is a place to learn the sport of volleyball in a competitive environment that encourages improvement.

For More detailed information please view our program document under our documents page.

"Feed the Dynasty" What it means:

This is not just a catchy phrase to put on a billboard. If a team wins one championship, that's an amazing accomplishment, but to do so many times in a row is considered a "dynasty". This is our challenge and Goal. To help the High School team become the top program in the state and to continue that year after year and forge a Dynasty of success.

Philosophy:

To provide an encouraging positive environment where young athletes can develop their volleyball skills and knowledge to the highest level they are able to in an organized Volleyball Program. A place where the "journey" of learning and growing as a volleyball player and a person is promoted at every aspect of the experience.

Definition of teams:

A ( Black ) Team -

This team is the most competitive team usually filled with players who have had experience with volleyball, have played at the club level, and/or possess a skill and understanding of the more advanced techniques such as rotations, setting, and defensive systems.

B ( Green ) Team -

1 level lower in competition level than the Black Team. This player would have some experience or understanding of the game but has yet to master it. A player at this level may possess a certain level of skill such as serving, passing, or setting but is still developing an understanding of how to master them.

C ( White ) Team and D ( Sting ) –( See more info below )

A competitive environment for the beginners and those new to volleyball who desire a "team" experience but have little to no understanding of fully organized volleyball. Players at this level often have a fundamental understanding of the game, may have taken a few basic clinics, or are simply starting out.

C team and Dev Team Info:

We are taking a new direction with our C Team and Development Teams to provide a better balance of competitiveness and experience.

This is for many reasons but the primary one is that in the past our C teams have not achieved a good balance of competitiveness while also properly giving each player enough experience to get them started in this great sport.

One practice a week, no play dates, with a few weekend tournaments was not enough in our opinion and putting them into a full competitive schedule with multiple play dates and 4 weekend competitive tournaments was also not what we wanted.

Logistically it has also caused the program undue burden both financially and staffing to field 1 - 2 teams in addition to keeping our competitive edge on our top tier teams.

So to balance that we are partnering with a local club to house our C team in one of their Dev leagues.

This gives us some better options to provide high level training with multiple well trained coaching staff and also places them in a controlled competitive environment where they can play other teams at their level, providing them a spring board into the sport.

  1. Players will be placed onto our C Team after tryouts or the makeup tryouts in August.
  2. They will then be registered into a development league program at a local club's facility.
  3. They will receive 2 practices per week, interleague play, and 3 weekend tournaments, along with a Jr. Hornet jersey and t-shirt.

Here is the full information:

  • All players will need to attend our tryouts or, the makeup tryouts in Aug.
  •  Players who make the  C team will be placed into this league. ( If we get more numbers beyond, we will form a 4th team as well )
  • These players will then be registered into the dev league program at a local club's facility.
  • They will get a dedicated coach from that club, 2x a week practice plus interleague play, and then 3 weekend tournaments.
  • They will also get a Jr. Hornet Jersey and 1 Jr. Hornet t-shirt.
  • They will remain together as a "Roswell Jr Hornet" team.
